As part of Progression’s 20 Years of Whatever IT takes initiatives, we have launched a series of CIO meets called Cloud Champions @ Progression. The first of this was held last month at our data center in Gurgaon. The aim of these meets is to have CIOs share their learnings and challenges with respect to cloud deployments with a peer group.
The focus in this meet was ecommerce scalability challenges. As ecommerce is on a rapid growth path, especially with the exploding use of mobiles and tablets, it’s imperative for ecommerce players to focus on delivering the right information, which aids a purchase, rapidly. One of the key insights came from Mr Dheer Singh, General Manager-IT, Yepme.com. He said, “We need to have a razor sharp focus on hardware optimization, to the level of bits and bytes. Just because we have gigabytes available doesn’t mean we shouldn’t optimize as much as possible.”
Progression completes its 20th year of operation this year and we have embarked on a series of initiatives to mark the achievement. Cloud Champions @ Progression is an initiative that brings CIOs together to discuss technology and business matters.
